FAQ

WHAT IS COUNSELING?

Counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. Professional counselors help clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems that cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health (ACA).

DO YOU OFFER PASTORAL COUNSELING?
Yes, we also offer Pastoral Counseling. In addition to professional counseling training, we have integration and pastoral counselor training focusing on working with the spiritual elements of a person. Spirituality is addressed at the client's request or if it comes up as an issue in counseling. Our counselors and coaches work with people from all faiths and also those who are not interested in religion
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
We do not process any insurance, but your provider might reimburse you for services you receive here. If you need to use insurance, call your provider and ask about reimbursement. Many insurance companies will reimburse you some percentage of the money you spend on therapy. Call your insurance company to ask them how that works and if they will reimburse you for services provided by us.
FSA and HSA cards are accepted. A superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement can also be provided.
HOW MUCH DOES COUNSELING COST?

DOES ONLINE THERAPY REALLY WORK?

Research has continued to show that online counseling has benefits that mirror in-person counseling. In light of the pandemic, more research on this topic continues to gain needed attention. As a counselor and counselor educator, I have been working online for over 10 years, and I can attest to the meaningful connections with clients and students on the other side of the screen.
